ABOUT JAY...

Jay Curtis was Born and bred in South Wales and has been a voice at the forefront of commercial radio for over 15 years with his own sense of style and personality as well as being a regular face on stage and television.

​

His obsession with radio began at early age landing his first radio show when he was just 16 on community station Afan FM before a chance encounter with Ray Gravelle saw him working with Radio Wales and Radio Cymru on station tours including the Big Buzz, Royal Welsh, County Shows and Pop In to the Park.

Soon he quickly found himself broadcasting across Wales on stations including Swansea Bay Radio, Bridge FM, Radio Carmarthenshire, and Radio Pembrokeshire becoming one of the youngest breakfast presenters in the country and later going on to work on Dragon Radio, Nation Radio Wales, Scotland and London and across Hull and East Yorkshire on KCFM.

 

His latest addition saw him join the presenting line-up at Co Op Radio and broadcasting across the UK to over 4,000 stores and 17.5 million listeners every week!

 

When he’s not on air he can normally be heard on commercials for some of the biggest brands in the UK on TV and Radio including Visit Wales showcasing the country as a popular destination for tourists around the World as well as regular campaigns by the Welsh Government.

 

On screen, his notable TV credits include drama Pobl y Cwm as well as being one of the familiar faces behind the launch of Sky Sports 3D across the UK. He’s also presented backstage and red carpet interviews at events such as the BAFTA Cymru Awards and worked on projects including ‘The Passion’ and ‘ We‘re here because’ with the National Theatre of Wales.

 

Away from the studio, he’s had a successful association with Theatre, appearing in Agatha Christie’s novel ‘Witness for the Prosecution’ with the Bill Kenwright Company at The New Theatre, Cardiff, and as Dandini in the family pantomime ‘Cinderella’ at the Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen.

 

An accomplished compere, he’s also a familiar face at events including Race for Life, Actif Sports Awards, Maxine De Paris Fashion Show and has worked with Heineken on the European Champions Cup, and remains a regular matchday announcer at Parc y Scarlets stadium in Wales.

 

He’s also written several columns for publications including the Bristol Post, and London Evening Standard and worked as a Showbiz columnist with Swansea Life Magazine County Life Magazine.

 

Aside from presenting, Jay has a passion for travel and recently began documenting these journeys by filming several Travelogues on Youtube sharing his tips and tricks around the World and working as an influencer with clients including Hyatt, Singapore Zoo, and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

 

His love for the industry also saw him broadcasting live while caught up in Hurricane Irma in Florida to provide rolling coverage for BBC News, ITV and Al jazeera from the eye of the storm on his mobile.

 

Other hobbies include Gameshows with recent appearances on 1000 Heartbeats hosted by Vernon Kay , and alongside Ben Shephard as a contestant on ITV’s Tipping Point.
